Rising to fame with his energetic sound, Gambian singer and songwriter Abdou naturally pushes the boundaries of his trap R&B and afro beats style. The DMV native discovered his love for music early on listening to mostly R&B artists Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Donnell Jones so It was no surprise that these influences were a part of Abdou’s early work. Once the DMV singer realized his potential and talent, he decided to pursue music further, performing on the streets, at colleges, and anywhere else he could book. Once Abdou became confident enough, he started writing and recording his own music and released his first record, “Do Better” in 2016 with producer kojo a. Abdou and kojo a. Continued to work together releasing tracks, “Alpha Male,” “No Patience,” and most recently “Be U.” You can find Abdou currently working on his debut EP, which he describes as sexy, honest, and a good vibe.
