For his 16th birthday, Sam McGrath received a TASCAM Digital 4-Track Recorder. And so began “S.A.M.” A project that would later develop into “wispy cauliflower.” In 2021, geared with that same 4-track and an HP laptop with Cakewalk installed. Sam recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered his very first album, “Clear Representation.” Although it wasn’t what most would call good music, it showed signs of things to come. After another album and an EP, Sam released his first masterpiece, “Sandy Bacon,” a 20-song Indie Pop behemoth. This time, he’d recorded and produced on Logic Pro with much better equipment (and better skills too). Following “Sandy Bacon,” wispy cauliflower continued this line-up of great Indie albums. With his fifth album, DIY Orphans, taking the cake. DIY Orphans (2024) was and is a landmark album for wispy cauliflower. Marking his sound for future projects. The songs are marked with catchy hooks, tear-worthy ballads, and garage-band alternatives. He’d also discovered his love for tape emulators and bizarre effects. DIY Orphans was the beginning of something new and was the backbone for his upcoming album, “A Mildly Entertaining Fiesta.” While also working on said upcoming album, Sam is currently working on bringing wispy cauliflower to the stage, and focusing on his music-production career. “STAY TUNED!!!
