The Austrian born drummer received his musical education at the Conservatory of Vienna and played with well known austrian musicians like Charly Ratzer, Harry Stoijka, Leo Wright, Wolfgang Puschnig, Linda Sharrock, Jimmy Woody, Lee Harper, and Richard Oesterreicher, among many others. 1988 he received a scholarship from the world renowned university New School of Music” in New York and left Austria for his further studies. During his stay in New York he started to work with musicians like Larry Goldings, Brad Mehldau, Ron Carter, Mark Whitfield, Peter Bernstein, Scott Colley, Chris Potter, Slide Hampton, Frank Wess, Shabhib Shihab, Rick Margitza, Ben Monder, Donny McCaslin, a.m.o. Beside his activities in the Jazz/R&B scene in NYC, he started to participate in the 80’s as a sideman in the “Institutional Church of God in Christ” which is well known throughout the US and has played with artists from the Contemporary Gospel scene like James Hall, Melvin Crispell, Butch Heyward and others. 1998 he was invited to play with Cirque du Soleil a Europe tour which brought him also to Germany. During his stay with the show in Berlin he started recording the first tracks for his debut album “Delicate Move” and finished it up in New York with a few cuts featuring Hiram Bullock on guitar. He is currently living as a freelance musician in mainly New York and Europe from where he is continually working.
