Columbia, SC native Matthew Hurtt began composing chiptunes under the moniker RPGO in 2014, after being introduced to I Fight Dragons and Anamanaguchi in high school. In 2020, he rebranded to Halfpint, drawing inspiration from alternative rock acts like Grandaddy, Bayside, and Ben Folds Five, as well as The Alan Parsons Project and Electric Light Orchestra. Halfpint has crafted a unique blend of power pop, built on a foundation of aggressive guitars, quirky synthesizers, and conversational lyricism.
