Keed Tha Heater, an exceptionally talented American rapper, began the grind at about thirteen years
of age. He had something distinctive about him that led him to become the influential east coast-
styled rapper today. His music has a touch of east coast jazz and aggression and is influential in
lyrical terms. Isolated from his peers, he shifted his interests to music, writing down ‘Lookin at Me’ by
Mase on a mere piece of paper on his way back on the school bus. He casually started rapping only
to realize the incredible forte that we are all familiar with today. Our artist knows how to play it by ear;
he picked up a few lyrics here and there from Candy by 8Ball and MJG and spun it around into what
he thought was best. He knew how to improvise and gained the courage to create his music as a
freelance songwriter.
Fast forward to the empire he has assembled around his expertise; he says he has created
evolutionary music as it has transitioned from expressing his grief and pain to a little more
contemporary. He gives his audience a contrast; he wants to stay in touch with his inner feelings and
come out with something that people will love. Keed Tha Heater, considered brave for putting himself
out there, expressing and reflecting upon pain in a vulnerable manner to becoming a little more
upbeat is a whole journey. Initially, he started to channel his inner-city struggles but moving to Texas
changed his style quite a bit.
