Star Wengs is a South African hip-hop musician and producer. Born Sipho Hector Phakathi on 22 june 1993 in Tembisa in Gauteng, Star Wengs grew up in Vryheid, Kwa Zulu Natal and later moved to Gauteng and first developed an interest in music at school. At his youngest age he became a choir Baritone leader and conductor at Khulasizwe Primary School and Winning a couple of provincial competitions with the choir. In 2018,Star Wengs formed a crew known as HoodRapGang including a future South African actor Seekay and others. Their first single titled ‘Pablo’ which was released the same year.
