Formed by two Auckland, New Zealand, natives who only go by the names of Dion and Jimmy, the two guitarists/vocalists got together as the D4 in 1998. With their self-titled, self-released 1999 debut EP, the D4 would capture a ruckus of AC/DC/Motörhead-fueled garage-punk that would eventually follow on the self-titled CD EP and Ladies Man single, both of which came out in 2000.
