J1 aka Jonathan Star, is an American underground hip hop artist and visionary. Creator of the Understream, a network of free thinking artists and activists, J1 uses his music as a catalyst for change and hope. Residing on the west coast of Cali, but born on the East coast, J1 blends a love of boombap, trap, rock, and storytelling. He is a loving father and husband who works diligently to build the community and the connection of all people.
