J is a hiphop/electronic producer based in the Netherlands, Eindhoven with roots in Surinam, South America, who draws inspiration from Funk & Soul. J was always surrounded by music from the 1980s and 1990s as he was growing up. He listened to his father's record collection on cassettes & vinyl. J started making catchy instrumental tracks in his dad's recording studio at a young age. This was prior to his musical career, in its early stages. His first official debut album/beattape, "My Mellow Days," was released on Bandcamp in 2013. Wicked Jazz Sounds by Phil Horneman, Soul & Jazz by Angelique van Houtveen, and numerous other stations played his single "Together Again" featuring Leslie Ebony.
