If anything, WIFIGAWD is prolific. From his recent output with New York’s Tony Seltzer to his early work on SoundCloud, the rapper swaps out rhyme styles like he does his latest vintage Ralph Lauren finds. Born and raised in Washington DC, WIFIGAWD cut his teeth early on Soundcloud, cranking out underground rap records with legends of the scene like Black Kray on “Scope”. WIFIGAWD’s early efforts revealed a trench-beat technician (Drake’s “I’m Upset” could learn a few things from “Check”), with revved up flows over production from frequent collaborators Oogiemane and Forza of Working On Dying. The last couple years have seen WIFIGAWD expand his sound, toying with new cadences and a diverse range of production. He often locks in with a single producer for a project, like the Heat Check series with Tony Seltzer or Hot As Hell with GAWD. On other projects, he takes a buffet of diverse beats and devours them whole, spitting out gems like “Don’t Cha Kno” and “No Kizzy”. While WIFIGAWD’s raps are calmer, more melodic and unrestrained than his early output, the threat still remains — WIFIGAWD will rap circles around a beat without remorse.
