Roe from the 9 is a multi-genre artist and engineer currently located in the Greensboro area. Originally from Raleigh, NC, Roe derives the latter part of his namesake from his hometown area code - 919. Best known for melodic hooks and unorthodox approaches, Roe sources his inspiration from the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, PnB Rock - and more. By definition, Roe considers his music to be an enigma, an aberration of the typical tropes presented in todays entertainment. Equipped with wide-swinging concepts and atypically nuanced cadences, Roe's music is consistantly genre-bending in ways that captivate the ear. The first adventure Roe took as a musician took the form of a Rockband, where Roe was the drummer and engineer back when he was in 6th grade. Forming a band called "Point n Laugh", it was clear early on that Roe was not going to be your ordinary Rapper. While attending college at ECU, Roe picked music back up under the name "Whizkid", which eventually became "Monroe" - his last name, to quell any confusion or comparison. Fast forward to 2021, settling on a nickname that spawned from the rap name "Monroe", Roe from the 9 was musically born anew. The journey Roe embarks on now is to encapsulate the many facets of his mind.
