Larry Geoffrey Cooke (born January 11, 1990) known in the rap game as LaRoyal LeeRoy, is a South African lawyer, rapper, freestyler and lyricist. He is one of the most conscious, versatile and talented lyricists of his time. Born and raised through the transition of the abolishment of the apartheid era in Johannesburg, South Africa, Larry began his musical career in the early 2000’s when he had realized his passion and burning desire to subscribe to the hip hop and rap culture. Post matric, Larry gigged as a DJ and had started his own B-boy dance crew known as Volatile, which later transformed into a rap crew. Larry’s confidence and verbal fluidity saw him flourish as a Master of Ceremonies. While pushing papers by day and spitting bars throughout, Larry is working tirelessly at taking his audiences along his journey through his two personas. He works on a slow release of each pseudonym through a three-part extended playlist installment he calls The Voices Trilogy (comprising Voices of the Past; Voices of this Moment; and Voices of their Future – along with some mixtapes in between to vent through these personalities). After the dissolution of Volatile, LaRoyal | LeeRoy continued to write lyrics and battle rivals on the streets whilst he ventured into the next chapter of his life as a student.
