Born and raised in the Dogtown section of Philadelphia. DTO Jay is a musician and entrepreneur gearing up for a big 2021. DTO, which stands for “Dogtown’s Own,” represents the neighborhood that Jay is from. As a kid DTO Jay would write poems and occasionally rhyme, but it was at the age of 13 where he first began writing lyrics and performing for small crowds. However, things took a turn when DTO Jay was 16 and went to prison for close to 20 years. Motivated by the hardships, DTO Jay continued to rap in the prison yard and created a name for himself. Influenced by the music of Tupac, Jay Z, Styles P and Drake, DTO Jay enjoys making versatile, relatable music that can serve as a smooth soundtrack for parties or the most hard-hitting street anthems. DTO Jay is signed to Reefer Records and promoting the release of his official Toast to the haters music video featuring labelmate Blackgoat.
