Douze préludes, Op. 36: No. 10, Sur une tombe
“A singular pianist, endowed with amazing charisma” (Le Monde), Laurent Wagschal is recognised as a fervent interpreter of French music and ardent defender of its little-known composers. His discography, warmly received by the press (Télérama, Diapason, Classica, Pianiste Magazine, Gramophone, The Guardian...), consists of some fourty solo, chamber and melody recordings devoted to Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Franck, Chausson, Debussy; and also Magnard, Dukas, Pierné, Vierne, Gaubert, Schmitt, Emmanuel, Cras, Thirion, Tomasi... He has been nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2011 in the category "Best Recording of the Year" for the integral of chamber music with winds of Saint-Saëns performed with the soloists of the Orchestre de Paris. In 2017 he was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) for his recordings consecrated to transcriptions by Leopold Godowsky. A passionate lover of chamber music that he plays in all its form with partners from many different horizons, he is the laureate of many international concerts in this musical area (Florence, Trapani, Trieste).
