Las Vegas rapper and songwriter/producer Malakhy Smith sustained a large social presence after he hit the scene in 2011, whether with his wide range of releases and guest appearances. Thanks to his deep and introspective rap flow, his ability to transition to R&B, jazz and even new jack swing, and his relatable and often personal songwriting, every one of his albums -- from 2018’s Black Loverboy to 2020’s political Shade is Melanin. Shade is Melanin -- hit heavy with fans, and singles like the hard hitting "Speedracer" and many of his No Expression Mixtapes did too. As he continued to grow his social presence , he worked with others along the way coming up with humble beginnings producing for his friends in the form of basement rap, starting his own label LiveLoveLife Records, and giving songwriting assist. In the new age of his career, Malakhy has kept constant footing in the game with 2022’s Diary of a Broken Heart which was inspired after the death of his mentor and uncle Bennie Jacobs, managed to break records in the young artist streaming catalog as well as it’s follow up in 2023 with Michigan Maly and it’s deluxe version The Atlanta Layovers.
