Yo! I’m Stevie Jo, a vocalist, instrumentalist, and songwriter. Starting my career in earnest at the age of 19 as USHER’s protege on Season 6 of NBC’s The Voice, while rubbing elbows with notable artists such as Morgan Wallen, the late Christina Grimmie, and Lake Stovall, I began the beautiful journey of finding myself and my sound while establishing a career in the industry. The one and only mufkatastic Collin Hauser and I are founding members of The Culdesac Kids. Growing up in Tyler, TX, I come from a wide array of influences, from metal and rock alternative, to R&B and soul, and later jazz. I have taken my time to discover my place as a songwriter and performer. I’m originally a drummer and guitarist, and as a writer I’ve always wanted to express my deepest sentiments about life and existence. I’m inspired by the flawless soulful vocals of Allen Stone and Matt Corby, and I’m enamored with the artistry of Jordan Rakei, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Bruno Major. After years of stacking written material and scarce joint releases, I’ve finally managed to release a song of my own with the help and expertise of Matt Young. makebad was the culmination of my desire to just get something out in the world, and I’m releasing a second single on March 15th.
