Av&nte whose given name is Owayne McCaulsky, was born in Kingston Jamaica. He grew up in a small community called King Weston in the parish of St. Andrew where he attended the Oberlin High School. During his high school years he was a lead singer for the school’s choir in the TVJ’s All Together Sing competition, after which the love that he constantly displayed for music caught the attention of the Bank of Nova Scotia foundation and he was awarded a scholarship offer to study Music Education at the Edna Manley College of The Visual and Performing Arts. Av&nte has been involved in music consistently for over 15 years and have graced a wide variety of major platforms both locally and internationally. Such as, The Culturama Festival in Coral Spring, Florida (2010), Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival (2012 & 2014), Tarrus Riley and Friends Christmas Concert (2010, 2012 and most recently 2019), GungoWalk Alternative Arts Festival (2016), Beenie Man's Summer Sizzle Festival (2018), Reggae Sumfest (2019), Popcaan's Unruly Festival (2019)
