Elson Soares is a Cape Verdean Dj and producer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Influenced by his roots in Mindelo, he merges the vibrant rhythms of Carnival and Capoeira percussion. Elson’s passion for music started at early age when he would spend hours playing and experimenting with sounds, he would always be the kid to play at high school parties and to bring people together through music. In 2018 he found his gift behind the decks, and he was determined to pursue his calling. In 2020, when the world went in lockdown, he started producing his own beats and shortly after, he released his first track, “Sauna” and collaborated with other producers. In 2023 he dropped his first EP “Culture”, which is a culmination of years of hard work and experimentation. “Culture” is characterised by its innovative perspectives in production and hypnotic drumbeats. He started performing at local events in The Netherlands and quickly gained reputation that led him to perform on stages in Cabo Verde, Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, United States , England and Switzerland. Elson has already accomplished so much in his early career, and he remains dedicated to push the boundaries of Afro Tech, and there is no doubt that he will only continue to reach new heights in the years to come .
