When growing up in a limited environment some may settle to accept what’s given to them, but for rapper YC794, he knows that life has way more to offer. As one of nine siblings, he didn’t have a lot of nice things growing up, but never abandoned the idea of success knowing that he was entitled to it. He instead used his upbringing as motivation and is inspired to go harder everyday. YC794, whose birth name is Christopher Lewis, is a rap artist out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and in his three years of creating music, he’s already opened up for heavy hitters like Young Jeezy and the Migos. YC794 turns up his laid back personality in his music which often speaks on making it out of the streets and the struggles the young rapper faced going from “rags to riches”. This is expressed eloquently on his most recent full length project Hood Ceremony in records like “Better Days” and “Pay Up” as he lays it all out. “You gotta hustle,” explains YC794. “You can’t believe in luck”. It’s more than just luck that has gotten him here because of his motivation to get where he wants to be in music and in life.
