CGE Blackstarr is a young up and coming artist born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He is heavily affiliated with the music/lifestyle collective known as Clutch Gang Entertainment (CGE). The group's goal is to establish a diverse sound within the underground of Chicago hip-hop music beyond its boundaries. Blackstarr was heavily influenced by the raw emotion and aggression of 2000s metalcore and the Chicago drill scene while also taking tons of inspiration from the melodic tones of J-Pop and J- Rock. His sound is melting pot of modern rap music with the raw tenacity of punk rock and the melodic drive of pop music. His lyrics have tendencies to reference pop culture (anime, movies, video games, etc.) that really bring out the personality of his music and persona.
