At the age of seven, Justin "Marquise" Thomas lost his father (Marquise Thomas) to gun violence. The tragedy worked as a cornerstone in Justin's life, teaching him empathy; and would eventually lead to a music career after he retired from college basketball due to injuries. To pay tribute to his father, the Portland-native and Seattle-based artist goes by "Marquise Thomas", and makes music to help others cope with their own pain and life obstacles. -Diamond In The Rough-
