It all started with a text message…. Besides being an author of novels, Rick Meijer has always had a passion for writing songs as well. After composing a piece on his guitar, Rick asked his good friend Barry van Spronsen, who is a composer and pianist, if he wanted to be featured on a soundtrack for his children’s novel ‘Ik ben echt niet bang’. With a ‘resounding yes’ from Barry, a special collaboration was born. After that, Rick and Barry decided to work together on the soundtrack of Rick’s latest work ‘Autumnville’ as well. An ambitious project, but that wouldn’t stop these two musicians from capturing that novel’s very atmosphere in the music. Several other partnerships followed, like the one with Thijs Borgman, owner of PM Label Group for releasing the soundtrack, and the collaborations with vocalists Jim Ocean and Danique Graanoogst and the producers Jeffrey Revet and Lloyd Phillippo as well. After a lot of work, the official Autumnville Book Soundtrack formed a perfect whole with the storyline and takes you on an exciting journey. There are several references to the soundtrack in the book. Enjoy!
