Nicknamed Cat Daddy while growing up on the drug-hardened streets of Mt. Vernon, Alabama Travell Blake’s love of freestyle rap helped him avoid falling into a troubled childhood. Travell honed his skills by freestyling & writing original rhymes of his own. With his musical talents sharpened, he established himself as one of the rawest rappers in the Mobile area. In 2006 he entered the studio to create what would become his first solo record, Dirty Work, under his moniker C.A.T. (Come Always Trill). Selling thousands of copies of the album at shows throughout the area, C.A.T. was ready to take his career to the next level & moved to the hip-hop hotbed of Atlanta in 2008. Travell’s music dreams never died, it was a dream about his late grandfather, that reignited Travell’s passion for hip-hop. Shortly after having this dream, Travell met Doogah Music CEO Nelson Hagood while working on the first season of Donald Glover’s award-winning series Atlanta (appropriately enough, about an Atlanta rapper trying to catch his break). Since its release, Trill Notes has gained more than two million listens on digital streaming platforms. The album’s single “I Can’t Wait” was featured in the 2018 Bruce Willis film "Acts of Violence", & Doogah Music reissued Dirty Work that same year.
