JaCoy “KillaTooma” Brathwaite, born Christmas day, 1990, is a rapper/songwriter from the Virgin Islands. His older siblings would tell stories about how as a toddler he memorized his favorite songs and tried singing them before he could speak clearly. This was only the beginning of his musical journey. In high school KillaTooma began to create his own music which grew popular locally amongst his peers. As he continued to create and release music, his notoriety began to grow beyond the Virgin Islands into other islands in the Caribbean. It wasn’t until 2014 when KillaTooma released his first full length project “’96: The Weigh In”. This mix tape solidified his position as one of the top storytelling lyricists in the region. He then started to feature on songs with the likes of Island Pop icon IYAZ who is also a Virgin Islands native. KillaTooma’s debut album “The Third Pillar” was released on June 30, 2017. This release grew popular in the Caribbean especially in the Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Antigua, and Trinidad where it is regarded as a classic. Four years later, KillaTooma released his sophomore album “Vision Builds Kingdoms” on April 23rd, 2021. All the tracks on VBK swept the top 20 songs on the British Virgin Islands Apple Music Top 100 chart for 5 days consecutively. KillaTooma is well on his way to becoming a legend is his own right.
