Modern Collapse is the Paris-based French duo Hugo Fabry and Gabriel De Sercey. Characterized
by a deep fascination with hybridization and so-called conflicting polarities, they blend early
electronics nostalgia with contemporary post-club culture, high-precision sound design with the
grittiness of a punk-metal live act, sweatiest club climax with relieving ambient textures. Modern
Collapse’s scope encompasses music production, various live performances (A/V, live battery with
electronics, live collaborations...) and music scoring for films, videos and other creative projects.
The French duo recently performed at Fata Morgana Festival, La Station Gare des Mines, 3537
and Meta, the infamous Marseille artistic free-space, among others. After several releases on labels
such as Comic Sans Records, DAWN, Jerry Horny, Air Texture or Tustance, they released in
2021 their manifesto Anti-Club Music Club, an 8-track album oscillating between ambient and
experimental destructured music. In 2022, they released their second LP Usual Case Scenario on
Hajj’s imprint DAWN.
