Lamount Terrel Paige (Born September 13, 1991) known professionally as R E K O, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and Co-founder of an Miami-based music entertainment and record label named Soigné Sound. Born in Miami, Florida, R E K O began to write music at the age of 12 but didn’t start his career until his late twenties. Heavily influenced by J.Cole, Kanye West, Jay Z, Young Thug and Nelly as well as other notable artists, He’s currently focused on releasing his debut EP project entitled ‘Very Special’ in February 2019. His story is simple. Raised in many different neighborhoods of Miami, R E K O has seen his fair share of struggle and used that to fuel his music. He is quoted as saying “My goal is to be the voice for people who didn't fall victim to the streets but never turned their backs on it”. What made R E K O start a career in music was a moment at his friends house that would change his R E K O’s music is described as semi-conscious rap. He prides himself on using his vocals as an instrument along with his lyrics as new wave of rap. Soul filled lyrics and Southern Harmonies jump off of every track, creating a vibe one moment and having you hype. With ambition, a never say die attitude and some of the creative music of 2019, R E K O is set to take over the Hip Hop scene.
