Babs the Original is a spoken word poet and singer born and raised in South East London. His journey has lead him to experiment with a sound that has a composition of contemporary RnB, Trap Soul, Hip Hop undertones with an imagery of spoken word. At age 20, he experienced his definition of poetry when he was introduced to Black Ice, Natalie Stewart of Floetry and Def Poetry Jams. As he learned, he developed his skills as a writer privately. He drew his inspiration from unfinished songs and conversations he never got to have. Inspired by the likes of Drake, Bryson Tiller, Black Ice and Floetry, he described his works as reflective and observational pieces while exploring his own vulnerability. He considers his music as an opportunity to expose into his inner-self so that others can resonate and accept their own truth. Babs the Original is passionate about sharing his highs and lows through his music. He is conscious about contributing to the foundation that was previously laid before him and transcend what we know as poetry. His ambition is to reach his highest potential through global success and collaborating with the biggest artists to inspire a generation and "be the best that has ever done it."
