Hugh Crosthwaite is a composer, orchestrator and producer. Hugh is inspired by a wide variety of music but his instrumental compositions are particularly influenced by the classical music of the late 19th and the early 20th century, affected by his love of jazz harmony. In addition to concert music, Hugh has scored music for films that have screened at Melbourne International Film Festival, Busan Film Festival and in 2012 Hugh scored the film that won the prestigious Tropfest film competition. Hugh graduated from the Conservatorium of Music at Melbourne University in 2004. Since then his compositions have been premiered by some of Australia’s finest musicians and his recordings have appeared on local and national radio.
