From Greek rebetika music to soundtracks, instrumental neoclassical music, post rock, classic rock and extreme metal, Kostas Panagiotou has covered a dazzling variety of music genres in his career. Originally born in Greece, he played Greek rebetika and popular songs in various bands based in Belgium before starting his symphonic doom metal band Pantheist. Relocating to the United Kingdom in 2003, he has since participated as main composer, musician or guest in an eclectic range of albums by bands and projects such as Pantheist, Crippled Black Phoenix, Ereipia etc. He composed the soundtrack for 'Siamese Twins', Griselda Gambaro's play directed by Jorge Perez Falconi and Mara Lockowandt and performed at Theatro Technis (London, September 2011). He also collaborated with filmmaker Alexander Decommere by writing the soundtrack to two of his short films, 'Waar De Pelikaan Landt' (2015) and the award winning 'This No Land' (2018). In 2020 Kostas released his first solo album 'Chamber of Isolation', containing instrumental piano music in his own eclectic style, followed by the EP ‘Times of Change’ later that year. His 2023 release 'Tor' showcases an individual varied style ranging from lyrical solo piano pieces to experimental organ drones and fantasy choirs.
