Spencer Nicholas Mahurt (November 7, 1993 – June 17, 2020), better known as Uncle Skitz, is an American rapper and songwriter. As one of the most idiosyncratic voices emerging from Texas, Uncle Skitz’ blend of deep-fried southern trap and hearty pop balladry makes his debut album 1PLAYAWAY thrilling yet soulful. Skitz began his music career in the mid-2010s in his hometown of Dallas as a songwriter for several prominent Texas rappers. Though often uncredited, Skitz honed his skills as a writer and developed his signature sound and style from which his name is derived from. His high-pitched shrieks, wildly unpredictable flow and animated delivery draws parallels to Young Thug and Eminem, but it's Skitz’ story of love, pain and addiction that’s most compelling.
