Ernie Mansfield plays flute and saxophone, and is also a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and composer. Over the course of five decades, he has worked with notable classical, folk, jazz, and rock musicians, including: Fantasy Records (Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner), Narada Michael Walden: music transciptions. Dan Fogelberg, Jim McNeely, Mormos, Francois Beranger, SkyFarmer, Dooley Brothers, Bernie Krause, Dr. Elmo, Hot Links, Joan Bibiloni, Jack Gates, Jack Miffleton, John Doan, Don Burnham: recording sessions. Pete Seeger, Gilles Vigneault, Vassar Clements, Maria Muldaur, Nanette Fabray, Boz Scaggs, Robin Williams: backup musician. He has worked in various roles with the San Francisco Symphony, California Symphony, Oakland East Bay Symphony, LucasFilm, Sher Music (the Real Books), and arranged music for numerous artists and music companies. He has spent the last twenty years as a private music teacher, and a music performer with the Diocese of Oakland.
