Lawrence Mumford's music, published by eight different companies, has been premiered in cities across the country. Three movements from his Symphony No. 4 ("Of Times and Seasons," "Hope and a Future," and "Sacrifice"), recorded by the Czech Republic’s Janacek Philharmonic, have recently become a part of the broadcast libraries of the largest classical radio stations in Boston, Cleveland, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other cities, and have been played repeatedly. Other symphonic works have been chosen for performance by the Carson City Symphony, the Bellflower Symphony, the Vanguard Symphony, The Master's Orchestra, the University of California at Irvine Symphony, Chicago's American Wind Band (3 world premieres), and other symphonic organizations. He has also written for choral groups, chamber ensembles, and producers at 20th-21st Century Fox in Hollywood. He has been in the winner's circle, a finalist, or a semifinalist for The American Prize thirteen times. Several of his original orchestral themes played daily on radio in over 50 cities nationwide for 14 years. Earlier in his career he placed a popular song on a Billboard #1 album and Record of the Year. He earned a doctorate in music composition at the University of Southern California and also teaches composition and piano at universities in greater Los Angeles.
