“There is a famous saying that states, “Whatever doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger.” Derrick “Young Izzi” Rose is a living testimony of that statement. After losing his daughter, experiencing his older brother being murdered , losing multiple family members to violence, and watching his immediate family fall apart; Izzi saw just how difficult life could be. Growing up in church, he was fascinated by superhero movies and shows. It gave him a deep desire to want to help people. Music became the outlet that would allow him to do this. He felt as though creating music gave him his own superpowers that would help heal others that may have experienced the same things he had. Fueled by his passion for music and his desire to help people, he decided to go all in his pursuit of being a well known artist. Izzi has realized that his passion to help people through his music goes beyond any notoriety or accolades that he could gain and has decided to create music so he could use the pain of all of his experiences as motivation to keep going no matter what. He has since performed all over the country spreading his story and positive messages that it’s ok to be you because the original is always worth more than the copy. He wants people to know that it is possible to turn their pain into motivation because our greatest victory in life is that we are STILL HERE!”
