Born Matthew Pearson in Rockville, Maryland, Matty P eventually resettled in Charleston, South Carolina. His 2015 Remix to Niykee Heatons “Bad Intentions” has accumulated over 3 million streams across most major streaming platforms. Matty got his start to music by transforming his poems into song lyrics back in middle school, and has stated he draws inspiration from so many different artists and genres. Matty plans to continue to release music as inspiration strikes in the coming years.
