Spanish singer Salomé was one of four performers to be elected winner of the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest, alongside entries from French vocalist Frida Boccara, the U.K.'s Lulu, and the Netherlands' Lennie Kuhr. She was born Maria Rosa Marco on June 21, 1943, in Barcelona.
