Founded in 2015, CHIEFLAND have become one of the beacons in Germany’s alternative/emo landscape with two full-lengths and three EPs released to date. All members hail from different cities in Germany (Leipzig, Hamburg, Halle, Göttingen) – more than four hours apart – making the band an exciting long-distance project. Since the global pandemic and member changes, CHIEFLAND moved away from the melodic hardcore sound of their debut record “Wildflowers” (Uncle M Music, 2019). More recently, the band found its niche in a mix of emo, alternative and post-hardcore. They also draw from shoegaze influences in some of their tracks. CHIEFLAND have played well over 150 shows so far, supporting bands such as ACRES, Being as an Ocean and Holding Absence. Currently, the band is recording their EP “Sentiment Valley” to be released in November 8th, 2024. Massachusetts’ seasoned musician and producer Alan Day (Four Year Strong) put his final touches on the majority of the songs. The track “Bad Move” also features Christine Goodwyne of Florida’s math rock/emo powerhouse Pool Kids, thus establishing CHIEFLAND’s connection overseas even further. The band is excited to perform their EP live later this year on their biggest DIY tour yet.
