Imagesong is the name Connie Marotta chose to promote her original songs. The name succinctly captures, both her life as a songwriter and poet, and the dance of creativity, the interaction between the words and the melody, that gives life to her songs. From a very early age, Connie’s poetry was intrinsically motivated by a haunting and deep-seated desire for musical expression. This desire eventually came to fruition as inspiration began to flow into unique songs that generally span the smooth jazz/easy listening genres with specific relevance to love as a healing force in the world today. With the help of some world-class professionals, including arranger and bassist Jon Burr, jazz vocalist Alexis Cole, saxophonist and woodwind doubler Marc Phaneuf, cellist Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf, and pianist Mike Eckroth, her songs came to life and Imagesong was born.
