As a recipient of various scholarships and prizes from international competitions, Calvin Wong holds graduate and undergraduate music performance degrees from some of the most acclaimed institutes, under the tutelage of Christopher Creviston at Arizona State University, Stephen Page at The University of Texas at Austin, Otis Murphy at Indiana University, and Kenneth Tse at University of Iowa. Calvin has recorded and performed frequently with Opus a la Carte Collectives, Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia, and Kodachrome. He is the Gold Medalist of the 4th Manhattan International Music Competition, and First Prize winner of the VIII Stockholm International Music Competition. Despite being an emerging saxophone artist and pedagogue on international stages and institutions, Calvin promotes the upbringing of young saxophonists and emerging composers.
