Formed from West Virginia in 2017, Crown Vic began as a sludge beatdown band. The band supported their early tracks regionally as support for fellow WV acts like Left Behind, Skincarver & Feverwar as well as Pittsburgh favorites 156/Silence. The band leaned harder into the death metal spectrum while still pumping out 4wheel drive guitar riffs and swampy rhythm sections with their second release in 2021, the psychedelic and off kilter "Spazzmatic" ep, recorded at Daily Grind Studio in Columbus, OH with material featuring vocals from Devin Swank of Sanguisugabogg. While enduring the pandemic, the band underwent lineup changes and would further progress in its death metal roots with the release of 3 singles in 2022 boasting a faster & slam-centric direction while still upholding the band's gut churning tonality. Crown shared these songs while hitting the East Coast hardcore & death metal scene with acts like The Last Ten Seconds of Life, Scab Hag & The Breathing Process. Crown Vic is set to release new music in the Spring of 2024.
