Artist, producer and designer Erik Friman has been active within the world of music since the early 2010's. Growing up in Umeå, he became part of the vibrant music scene dominated by Hardcore bands and DIY music lovers. He came up through Rap collective Random Bastards, and started making music with childhood friend Broder John. They became a rap duo, called Broder John & Friman, and went on to release Funk Flavored Boom Bap between the years 2012-2015. In 2016, the old friends went separate ways in order to explore new musical journeys. Erik Friman chose to explore his inner self through the ghost of a 90's RnB superstar called Fricky. This allowed space for him to explore and make more melodic and atmospheric sounds, as opposed to the monotone rap style he'd been doing earlier. And by playing this sort of twisted fantasy game with this alter ego, Fricky became a channel for Eriks inner thoughts, and simultaneously a popular figure amongst music fans after what was to be called Contagious songs filled with playful lyrics and punchlines. Fricky now decided he would try and become the brightest shooting star of the land, more or less as an experiment. Just like his idol Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he manifested that idea into reality. And after the release of Aqua Aura EP (2019), Fricky won 'Artist of the year' on the P3-Guld Gala. Multiple tours and one pandemic later, Fricky finally released his debut Album Fricktion (2021). Who knows where this road is heading...
