Self aware raps gliding over soulful beats is Justen Jackson’s calling card. Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, he grew up in the church so his sound is heavily inspired by gospel music, and just living life. He released his debut mixtape “The Sallie Mae Demo” in 2014 and shortly after joined The Shreveport Soul Society, a collective of other local Shreveport artists that opened locally for the likes of ‪Big Freedia‬, Alfred Banks, and Mega Ran. 
  After a brief hiatus Justen hit the ground running in 2019. Releasing two EPs A Systematic Clutter of My Imagination and Peaked In High School, opened up for RCA signee Dear Silas and Shwayze. In March 2020 Justen finally released his long awaited full length project, Sadderday.
