Mind Over MattR was conceived in January 2015 in Olympia, WA when he was asked by a friend to feature on one of his songs. In no time, he fell in love with hip hop and pursued a career to make a name not just for himself, but for Christ who strengthens him. He has spent the last five years learning, performing, writing, and creating in his newfound home of Portland, OR. Amidst this pursuit he has worked with a variety of talented people, including Gallagath on the popular singles College Love and Flames. His sophomore album is due to come out in the fall of 2020, as teased by the track succumbing aka new album coming soon, talking about mental health, suicidial ideation, and how his faith struggled as he battled and continues to battle those demons.
