I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) and am from a large family of seven children. I started playing music when I was in junior high. A friend played "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin for me, and I knew I had to learn how to play the guitar. From there I cut my teeth musically as a worship leader at different churches, but none more influential to me than Shepherd's Heart Church. This was not your average church experience as it is a church to the poor, homeless, and addicted in the city of Pittsburgh. It was there that I watched the power of music cut across all sorts of barriers and differences and bring people into touch with their common pain and common need. I've been writing music ever since. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Kate. We have two girls, and are both ordained ministers. Our understanding of our faith comes out of profound experiences of being met in our brokenness and pain by the radical grace of Jesus Christ. Whatever my music is, it comes from this story of grace.
