Born in France in 1996 to Spanish and French parents, Lucas de la Rosa has been exploring music and songwriting since the age of 6, and soon fell in love with the universe of music recording and engineering. While getting into the progressive realm, routine was all about heavily practicing a number of different instruments, which allowed for multi-instrumental covers of prog tunes that got public praise from no less than Dream Theater, Haken or VOLA. However, Lulu (as friends say) is mostly renowned within internet music communities for advanced technical guitar playing abilities, together with a lead playing inspired by vocals, yielding as a sobbing-like sound that many deemed very recognizable, quickly becoming an unmistakable trademark. The release of the 4-track EP "Sunlight Highlights" brings all of this lead playing together with tight djent grooves, math-rock inspired cleans, ragtime piano and a multitude of inspirations ranging from bubblegum J-Pop to brutal death metal, in a constant race to keep the listener entertained; and features a collaboration with famous djent pioneer Sithu Aye. All of the record is fully self-produced, taking advantage from having long-time experience of working with hundreds of artists over the years, recently producing rising stars such as Ihlo, as well as collaborating on albums together with Angel Vivaldi, members from Haken, VOLA, Next to None, Rob Lundgren, Bent Knee, Arch Echo, Fractal Universe or Keor to name a few.
