Being a wordsmith , poet, & storyteller hailing from Memphis, TN, DXPE (pronounced DOPE) bends his words to sound to create stories & ambiences that can be empathetic & in a sense, cinematic. Stories ranging anywhere from deep conversations with God in the spirit world , to defending his mortality while surviving in the city he calls home, & everything else in between. The lyricist has come a long way since his debut ep “thankGod4DXPE”, which he dropped in December of 2020. He’s since released projects projecting each season of his life while also mirroring the changes in nature. So for the listening audiences, it would go from summer (“STUCK IN THE SUMMER”), to fall (“thefallback EP”), to his most recent installment, winter (“GONE 4 THE WINTER”) that he dropped on January 6, 2023. At the top of 2023, DXPE flooded the streets with his latest installment, GONE 4 THE WINTER. He refers it as “a compilation to some, & a therapy session to others”.
