Ray G.I.G.S born in Hayward California, and has lived in the Bay Area until highschool, moving out to Stockton CA where he currently resides to this day, has always had a vast love for music. originally a dancer when the hyphy era was at it's peak would be how he got his name. after graduating high school he lost interest in dancing and picked up on producing beats for a period of time using Reason and FL Studio. The beat programs taught him how to count bars in a song which inspired him to write a rap song to one of his own beats and that sparked his interest in becoming a hip-hop artist recording songs in his room perfecting his craft but not yet finding his own sound, content, or identity until seeing the 2010 XXL Freshman cover. Now heavily influenced by J Cole, Freddie Gibbs, Nipsey Hussle, and the following year's freshmen, Big K.R.I.T, Mac Miller, Meek Mill, & Kendrick he finally felt it was possible to take Rap seriously and achieve his dream especially not really having a true passion before then, just hobbies. now having direction and the proper inspiration he made the G.I.G.S in his name an acronym for GENIUS INSTINCTIVELY GROWING SUCCESSFULLY. his music is a blend of hip-hop, wavey conceptual music with a fun southern bounce to it. his rap style is a clear influence of Big KRIT, J.Cole, Freddie Gibbs, Meek Mill, and Kendrick. his goal is to make music that's relatable to everyone and inspires others to follow their passion and goals regardless of the situation.
