Chisom & Zinhle are a musical duo based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Chisom is originally from Nigeria and moved to Johannesburg in 2011, while Zinhle was born and raised in Durban and moved to Johannesburg in 2002. The duo met in a church where they both fellowshipped in the Eastrand. Chisom was a youth pastor at the time while also pursuing a music career as a solo artist. Zinhle was a worship leader and a vocal coach for the church worship team and taking corporate gigs with her band. They decided to merge their music careers into a duo in 2019, hence Chisom & Zinhle. Chisom’s musical influences include afrobeats, pop, gospel, and hip hop, while Zinhle’s influences include jazz, gospel, hip hop, and R&B, to name a few. Their style of music as a duo is a combination of their influences, which gives a fresh and unique sound to their craft. Their songs touch on God’s love and mankind’s love, and they tell stories and inspire positivity through their music. Their first official single, “Only You,” was released in June 2019, followed by a video release in November 2019. The song is doing well and is being played on radio stations such as Rainbow FM, Phela FM, Impact radio, and Tsakane FM. The music video is playing on One gospel and Mansi music. Their hit single, “One in a Million,” was released in August 2020 and has been well-received. They have also given interviews in places such as Tanzania and Mauritius, to name a few.
