Manchester born artist Zaddy Patron covers an eclectic mix of genres with his unique alternative style, incorporating elements of rap, hip hop and pop. He began pursuing his love for music back in 2011 as Zakapoet. After experiencing some ups and downs, he has now truly come into his own after taking on the new name of Zaddy Patron. The pandemic that shook the world early 2020, gave Zaddy the opportunity to work on his craft full time. Dedicating hours and hours in the studio has led him to develop even further into the artist he his today. Zaddy takes a hands on approach and is heavily involved in every single aspect of creating his sound, from writing, to co-producing, right through to those finer finishes. He is an overall visionary. ‘I feel my purpose is to touch souls with my music. I aim to bring good spirit and energy. When people are listening to my sound, I want to elevate their mood or help them face whatever personal issue that may be going on in their life. Just as my influences have with me growing up, artists such as Kanye, Slum Village, Ariel Pink, ASAP, Young Thug - they have been instrumental to my artistry.’ What is it you ultimately strive for? ‘The saying goes “people work hard for a pay check but would die for recognition” – to me that’s it I just want to be heard and to give back to the world.’
