• Rods Rodrigues was born in Campo Grande, Brazil and is the co-creator, main composer, instrumentalist and performer of Dalai & City DC. Rods comes from a working class family based in Brazilian midwest and started singing in school, influenced by his friends that had musician in their families. Because of that background, the artist grew up listening closely to names from Mato Grosso do Sul regional music, as Tetê Espíndola and Geraldo Espíndola. Rods moved to the big city in São Paulo and that movement introduced new influencies that are felt till these days in his work. For example the urge to mix acoustic instruments with synths and eletronics. Also the interest for fine arts and cinema.
