GXLDmine is not your average artist. Ever since dropping his debut EP Trending Topic in 2018, the MC, singer, and producer has been on a quest to cement his place in the world of music as an innovator. After dropping several projects under his original moniker Jthemc from 2018 to early 2021, the self-proclaimed "prodigal prodigy" took it upon himself to reinvent himself and his new music under the name GXLDmine, a callback to his days as a Tumblr blogger. GXLDmine's new music is seemingly a symbolic culmination of the types of things he would post about on Tumblr: manifesting your own reality, making the most of life, and of course getting fly and having fun. The Philadelphia lyricist's tunes are a masterful mix of infectious melodies, inspirational mantras, and of course braggadocious bars. If the acronym for GXLD: "Going e(X)ceedingly Long Distances" is any indication of his future career, the 20-something year old creator has a lot in store for himself, and us listeners. GXLD's newest offering "Enjoy the Ride" is a reminder to all of us to live our own lives to the fullest regardless of our circumstances, and to remember that it's not about how fast you get to your destination, but about how much you enjoy the ride.
